The Thiruvalluvar Statue is a whopping 40.6 m (133 feet tall) magnificent rock sculpture of the divine Tamil poet and philosopher Ayyan Tiruvalluvar, writer of the Thirukkural (most distinguished Tamil Sangam literature comprising of 1,330 thirukurals).

Kanyakumari Thiruvalluvar Statue

The architectural marvel of Thiruvlluvar Statue was uncovered during the year 2000 (1st January 2000) and is situated on a minuscule island close to the town of Kanyakumari, where the Indian Ocean, the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea come together. The Thiruvalluvar Statue has a stairway inside it, from where the picturesque panorama of the ocean and the mainland can be relished. Mathur Aqueduct

Mathur Aqueduct, popularly called as Mathur Thotti Palam or Mathur Hanging Trough, is an aqueduct (Bridges for conveying water are called as aqueducts), located in the southern state of Tamil Nadu in Kanyakumari district. Kanyakumari Mathur Bridge

Constructed over the Pahrali River/Parazhiyar (originates in the Mahendragiri hills and flows through Kanyakumari district), it acquires its name from Mathur, a village located close to the hanging bridge, which is at a distance of about 3,000 meters from Thiruvattar town, Kanyakumari. The hanging trough is regarded as the one of the highest and longest hanging bridges in South Asia. Standing in the middle part of the bridge, visitors can witness the breathtaking scene of greeneries all around, with mesmerizing Western Ghats in the backdrop, and the sedately flowing Pahrali River below!

The five most important pathis of Ayyavazhi located in the district of Kanyakumari are Swamithope pathi also known as Thoppu Pathi, Thamaraikulam Pathi, Ambalappathi, Muttappathi and Pooppathi. All the five spiritual sites are situated within a 15 km circle of Kumari Mavattam. Swamithoppe is the spiritual central office of Ayyavazhi. Swamithoppe was also the place of birth of Sage Vyasa who wrote the Mahabharata - one among the two major Sanskrit epics of India.
